Hamar Laser Introduces Wireless Targets with Integrated Readout Displays

A-1519 and A-1520 wireless targets now feature integrated readout displays for added convenience and greater ease of use

A-1519-2.4XBE-RO Integrated Wireless Targets

Hamar Laser Instruments, Inc., a world leader in laser alignment and calibration systems, introduces its A-1519-2.4XBE-RO and A-1520-2.4XBE-RO Integrated Wireless Targets.

The enhanced targets combine Hamar Laser’s high-accuracy scan targets with a 330-degree rotating readout display, eliminating the need for a separate readout unit and cable. With its reduced footprint, the new, more compact design offers added convenience and greater ease of use, and eliminates the potential snagging hazard associated with separate, wired readouts. Hamar also offers a version with the radio removed for facilities where wireless devices are not allowed.

The new A-1519-2.4XBE-RO Integrated Wireless Target and Readout Display is a high-resolution, high-accuracy wireless target that offers a resolution of .00002 in. (0.0005 mm) and a measuring range of ±.55 in. (±14 mm). For higher-accuracy applications, the A-1520-2.4XBE-RO Integrated Wireless Target and Readout Display offers double the resolution and accuracy with a range of ±.10 in. (±2.5 mm).

Both targets operate in single-axis mode with all Hamar Laser’s scanning lasers, using XBee® radio technology for wireless communication with up to 99 targets simultaneously. The integrated readout display conveniently swivels 330 degrees for easy viewing from any angle, and is powered directly by the target, with no separate cables or display unit required.

“Combining our A-1519 and A-1520 targets with our R-1308 readout makes the new integrated targets easier to set up and use,” says Rod Hamar, president of Hamar Laser Instruments. “You no longer need to worry about where to position the readout on the target posts for viewing or about the cable snagging on things and damaging the connector.”

The targets may be used with Hamar Laser’s continuously sweeping lasers (L-730 / L-740 Series) for measuring the flatness, straightness, squareness and parallelism of both machine tool linear and rotary axes, platens and rolls, and many other applications.
