L-102
BEAM TRANSLATOR

DESCRIPTION
The L-102 is a beam-steering device used to translate the
vertical and horizontal position of Hamar's straight-line lasers without
affecting the angle of the laser beam. It mounts on a magnetic base and
features coarse and fine adjustments for translations as small as .001"
and +/- .100" maximum beam displacement.
APPLICATIONS
For use in machine tool and bore
alignment with the following lasers: L-723, L-722, L-720, L-720M, L-705/706.
FEATURES
- Translates the vertical and horizontal position
of the laser beam without change the beam's angle.
- Coarse and fine adjustment for translations as
small as .001".
- +/- .100" maximum beam displacement.

P-405 REMOTE SCAN
OPTICAL SQUARE

DESCRIPTION
The P-405 Remote Scan Optical Square accepts a straight-line
laser beam, bends it at a precise 90º angle and produces a continuously
rotating laser plane. It uses the T-212 4-Axis Target to qualify or align
the optical square to the laser beam. The laser plane created by the P-405
is square to its input beam to 1 arc second. The plane is flat to 1/2
arc second. It can be moved down the input laser beam to create parallel
reference planes.
APPLICATIONS
- Machine tool measurement/alignment
- Spindle Z-X travel
- Lathe cross-rail squareness/straightness/flatness
- Column squareness
- Roll alignment
FEATURES
- The plane is generated by a rotating pentaprism
that bends the beam at an exact 90º angle, accurate to better than
.0002" within a ten-foot diameter circle and .001" within
a 50-foot diameter circle.
- Establishes parallel planes by moving the P-405
to different locations along a straight laser beam.
- Uses multiple targets, eliminating the need to
relocate the target for each measurement.
- Reduced operating time. The P-405 does not need
adjusting for every reading (the "point-and-shoot" method
required by manual systems).
SPECIFICATIONS
| Plane Flatness: |
20 microinch/ft. 360º sweep
10 microinch/ft. 90º sweep (plus laser centering error) |
| Plumb Line Squareness: |
Within 1/3 arc second to plane |

targets in the Hamar Laser target line. It consists of a target holder
with two micrometer slides, a 12" post and a magnetic base with 70
pounds of pull. The micrometer slides are used to make fine vertical and
horizontal adjustments to the target's position. It is used most often
to hold 2 and 4-axis targets when "qualifying" the laser beam.
APPLICATIONS
- Machine tool alignment. Used with L-720 and L-720M
lasers.
- Will hold T-212, T-218, and T-261A (with adapter
plate).
